Peter

The project is of interest to me. We need to just do it. I don't fully understand it yet. I think it has to do with the life of a remarkable person. An appreciation of a very interesting and good person. I cannot understand the concept of the father, as I really never had one. I do not feel anything about this any more, just curious about what it means to some one else.

He brought you across the ocean when you were young to the new land, America. This was a thing done by so many immigrants, Greek, Chinese, Jewish, Irish. So many came to Boston and we admire such people so. They faced such hardship and uncertainty and prevailed.

We Greeks do some thing called a praise-document. That is what your piece is. It shows the world of your father. You need a title as well as the music. Do not think of one classic and definitive piece. But a series. One that does not end. When I work I will do a whole lot of pieces on a subject. The poet Seferi, the parking lot at Bob's. The film person, Chilson of Franklin, MA. The place I call Dover and my home. The thing we call the Greek diaspora of Boston.

You can use my studio in Dover. Only you have to get in line, as the work backs up and it is all volunteer work and depends on that fact and getting scarce studio time. We could go elsewhere for time. Say Quincy or Woonsocket, if they would be interested in putting the show on their production schedule. We may look into that.

So just lay out the pictures and tell the story out loud on the kitchen table. Then move the pictures around a bit. I played "Archie" for you so you could see how the common story turns out to be the most interesting of all. The video medium has the capacity of making the everyday thing seem a miracle.

I also played the Mary Van Deusen, Due South tapes for you to show you how the combination of two aspects of modern life, the song and the tv.
